![]() ![]() ![]() As for the FE, the FE2 also has a possibility of operation without batteries in a completely mechanical and manual way, but with shutter speed at 1/250 of a second instead of 1/90 of the Fe (branded M250) and the usual pose B. The FM2 also had a shutter speed in sync with the flash of 1/200 seconds The FE2 took her to 1/250, then forcing the Nikon to a manual machine shutter upgrade known as the FM2n. The FM2 went out the year before and was very much waiting for the chance to shoot at the speed of 1/4000 seconds, a record for the Times. As the Nikon FE stemed from its totally manual Nikon FM counterpart, the FE2 can be described as a FM2 (the evolution of FM) with the addition of electronic automatisms for exposure. My father's Nikon FM had been the first real camera with which I had tried the first photos. Thanks to this wonderful gift this did not happen, indeed: my passion for analogue photography has invigored and the Nikon FE2 was later also equipped with a set of objectives of excellent workmanship. It was on that business trip in the USA that I bought the first digital compact, fearing in the meantime that I would no longer use the film. The strange thing was that then I did not get behind a camera, the Nikon FM family, perhaps because it already was now in fact owned by my sister. We were together during a trip to New York for work, where she had reached me, less than a year before. Maybe I had talked about it, maybe he asked about the advice around, it is in fact that in the end it really took me by surprise by picking up the model that I would have chosen, to the precision. Then we were just together and realized that that was the kind of camera I really wanted. In August 2005 my girlfriend (who is my wife today) gave me a wonderful Nikon FE2 for my birthday. ![]()
